Cabernet Capital can source property development finance, construction finance and project funding primarily for the construction and property development sectors.

Minimum finance sourced and fees

  • In general, the minimum quantum of funding we source is NZ$2.0M.

In general, the minimum fee is 2.0% of capital raised, although discounts can apply for very large capital raising assignments. Our fee is success based. If we are unsuccessful in raising capital, no fee is payable. In some cases, nominal disbursements may be payable.

If the Group’s corporate advisory services are required when preparing offer documentation for capital raising, a negotiated fee is payable, irrespective of the result. Any such corporate advisory functions such as financial modelling, quantity surveying, project appraisal, valuation and so forth are managed by Cohasset Group Limited.

Occasionally projects require a coordinating project manager to liaise with project personnel including solicitors, engineers, planners, constructors and so forth. Cohasset Group usually accepts these appointments in addition to Cabernet Capital. Our fee may be fixed or based on time and cost.

Terms of engagement

Cabernet Capital accepts only engagements via an irrevocable, fully exclusive mandate. We do not work on a non-exclusive basis. For this reason, we decline more engagements than we accept.

Working with Iwi

More of our capital raising projects are now for Iwi in relation to papa kainga and other social housing projects. We greatly enjoy working with Iwi and having the opportunity to spend time in heartland New Zealand where we share our roots.
